General Information:
Red-capped Cardinal is a small bird of the Tanager family, unlike other "appropriate"
Cardinalidae cardinals of the family. Also there is a subspecies of this bird, P. g. nitrogenis, from there through Trinidad and North America South. Often found in pairs or family groups.
Physical description:
An adult Red-capped Cardinal is about 6,5 cm long and weighs about 22 g. His head is red and black around the eyes and the Lords. Your throat is also black and the legs are a shade of gray. The PG nitrogenis subspecies is distinguished by its black and red ear coverts lower throat and upper chest.
Diet:
Red-capped Cardinal's diet consists of insects, rice, and fruit.
Habitat:
This includes the distribution of land birds lower Trinity and the Northeast coast and north-central South America (including the basin the Amazon in Brazil). The Red-capped Cardinal has a natural habitat of marshes, mangroves, and other semi-open areas near water. Also known to be living in towns and cities.
Reproduction:
The Red-capped Cardinal races around June to September. A female will lay 2 to 3 eggs, but the clutch in a shallow nest in a tree or another relative safety. The eggs vary in color from whitish to dark mottled patterns.
