Many people want to start their own businesses, would not like to be self-employed? However, it is a lot of hard work and one of the most difficult all industries of owning your own business is food and restaurant business. If you realize this, you know you need help, need resources financial and information and if you do not listen to reason, at least, let me recommend a very good book on running a restaurant as well as another book very good to help you with other resources that are needed:
"How to run a successful Restaurant" by William L. Siegel. 1977.
This is quite a bit comprehensive "how to book and must read for all MBA students in writing a business plan for a restaurant business fictitious. Must be the platform for all entrepreneurs restaurant also. The book is quick to point out in the first chapter of the challenges, advantages and disadvantages of owning a restaurant. Then enter how to form the company and its financing. Then the author discusses how to make a menu that will sell, invite repeat customers and referrals.
The book gets into the suppliers, relations, employees, equipment, promotion, advertising, marketing, management, laws and basic principles of operation of the ship. The formation of the company, the exit strategy, accounting, construction, properties and lots of lists control are also included.
"The Small Business Financial Resource Guide" 1998 by MasterCard, IFA – International Franchise Association.
This little book is a great resource on available assistance from both public and private sources to help an employer or franchisee receives financing for small businesses. Although this book is ten years, I am pretty sure that the latest edition would be much more worth your time if need to start a business.
