Worry has never been a problem for me. Most of the optimists worry can zip past without a scratch. I personally have always held in St. Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." It may not be the biblical example of "not worry – be happy ", but it's definitely a call not to worry.
I have bird feeders in my back deck. In all my years seen the birds eating out have yet to see one with his head in his wings thinking how I would eat tomorrow. This can only come – it is doing what is supposed to must do – and then wake up tomorrow and do it all again.
That's where the fight. They can not worry about things, but the struggle with my confidence that God is doing to the way I want it done. Life seems much easier when I'm in control – though I know it's only my illusion.
I working in for a couple of weeks (or a couple of days) after the will of God and then I think back to my way is the best way. The results are never as good, as easy or as peaceful, but I still seem determined to do it my way.
It's time I learned to step into God's will and then stay there!
1. Study of the Word – the Internet is ideal for this (although I like my Strong's Concordance) because it gives me the opportunity to look up words in almost any translation of the word ever written. I decided to write all the scripts that correspond to every situation I encounter.
2. Talking to God – this is not it is only prayer time, but it is real talk with God. I did a lot when I was younger – usually by the lake where I can hear waves on the shore. I live along a creek now and do not think I've spent a minute on the creek side to talk to God.
3. Read the Word – making a study of the word or to study the situation is great, but just reading the Word is so important. I have to have an intimate knowledge of the characters, stories and all the author.
This is important to live a life where you do not worry, because worry is a sin. Equally important is to stop trying to fix everything trust myself and the way of God, in His time and his plan.
