Question on the exploitation of animals in the environment – birds exploit the environment for flying?

Sea creatures not exploit the environment using water resistance to help them travel? Do polar bears exploit the environment by using the polar ice to maintain a gentle death? No feed carrion exploit the environment for an animal waiting to die of disease or old age? Do predators exploit the environment, specifically targeting young and fragile? What do you think?
